Sounds like a very accurate description of writer’s block. I remember I once had to look up an intro for a piece of media so I could successfully write the protagonist’s narration and personal opinions of it, and failed to write. And then I failed to write for several months on end. And then lost the draft.

But yes, Rob Poor—more like Poor Rob, robbed of his time and motivation—is a very accurate representation of all us poor writers

I had a student ask me today for “real advice” on how to focus and study for more than twenty minutes. So I gave him real advice on distractions like phones and video games. Of course it hurt to give because I thought about all my distractions and inability to focus.

So yeah. That’s where Rob Poor came from.

Ha ha! So true. Especially if you write 'historical' fiction. You can wander about for years, never having to write your book because you're still doing research. Good one!
